Blue Sympathy Card

Here is a Sympathy Card that I had to make this morning, for one of my late husbands old friends, I used a dark blue and white cardstock and the stamp pad www.sullivans.net  "grasses" that I have had for about 10 years, it is one of my favourites for this type of card because people don't want too fancy, they are not up to looking at those and these plain ones suit the mood.   I used Tsukineko Dew drops ink in Danube Blue.

Celebrate

Made this card this morning, I used cream cardstock with a white cardstock, embossed with Craft Concepts embossing folder "Starry Night"  I used "Cantsloupe" Memento ink from Tsukineko,
also used a scrap of starry ribbon from my stash and a blue star paper slide from Office Works, and the stamp is an old Fiskars and the rhinstones are from my stash, the banner was given to me by my friend Meg, Thanks Meg.   I think I quite like this one.

two new cards

I made these two cards last night, the first one the inspiration is from Tami at stampwithtami.com/blog/2013/07stampinup-butterfly she used four different colours and a smaller butterfly, I have got a smaller butterfly punch but it seems to have vanished in the stash, it will turn up though, I used three pieces of scrap card stock, embossed with Cuttlebug "Polka Dots", Craft concepts "Starry Night" and Tim Holtz "Retro Circles" the butterfly is the smallest from Joy Crafts cutting die 6002/0027.   I will have to locate my small butterfly punch and make more of these,  the second card is also inspired from someone on the net, but I cannot find the card now to acknowledge her/him, the black paper I used is from an old paper pad "soiree" from Rosies Crafts, I have had this paper pad for ages, the yellow came from Webster's "Petite Papers" the embossing folder used is from Cuttlebug 5" x 7" "Honeycomb", this is a great embossing folder because there are two in the pack, the larger one and a narrow 1.25" x 7", which is a border folder with a smaller Honeycomb pattern. these are pretty cards that can be put in a box to give for a gift.

Christmas Village

This is my second card for today, I coloured the background with Dyan Reaveley inks and used the fence and gate cut from Memory Box cutting dies and the village and the Merry Christmas  are cut from Marianne Creatables Village No 1 and No 2.   and the merry Christmas/seasons greetings LR0225.

Old Jalopy with Christmas Tree

I got the idea for this card from an e mail from the 2013 CHA, I am not sure who made the original but it grabbed me because I love this Old Jalopy, it is one of my favourites.   I used white cardstock covered with paper from a Kaisercraft  6" x 6" paper pad "December 25th" as this card is 8" x 6" I joined two sheets together, the join is hidden underneath the car.   I cut out a Christmas tree from one of the Memory Box cutting dies and used a generic punch for the star, I used red cardstock to cut out the car with white copy paper for the running board and tyre centres, lights, etc.   I used two small safety pins for the door latches and used black opal kindy glitz for the tyres and white for the running board etc.   I used small buttons from my stash for the centre of the tyres and a small gold eagle for the top of the radiator, and the Merry Christmas stamp is from my stash, I used Perfect Pearls Sunflower Sparkle to spray and add the shine and used kindy glitz to edge the card.   I am pretty happy with this one

Gift Box

The inspiration for this gift box
came from a utube video from Dawm5377, her web site is:
http://dawnsstampingthoughts.net/stampinup-201314-annual-catalogue-html, she used a different colour and a different front on the card, but I didn't have all the stampinup products and just used what I have.  I used an orange thick card stock and cut the top and the bottom to Dawns instructions and used a Spellbinder cutting die - the largest oblong and used a greenie paper to cut the flourish which is a Fancy That Flourish, and I used the orange paper to cut out the Mini royal Roses which are a Die-namics cutting die, I really like these roses! The Happy Birthday was cut from the same paper as the roses and is a Marianne Creatables cutting die.

Time Flies

The inspiration for this card came from Graphic 45 and their wonderful paper 8" x 8" pad "Streampunk Spells"   I really love their papers they are so thick and beautiful images, I think this card would be suitable for either male or female and I really enjoyed making this card.

mini roses birthday card

This is a sweet birthday card for a sweet lady, I used white cardstock with a red cardstock and then embossed the next white level with Craft Concepts embossing folder "In Stitches" one of the first ones I bought, I used a flourish cutting die from "Fancy That" and the "Mini Royal Roses" is a cutting die from DieNamics, and the "Happy Birthday" is a cutting die from Marianne's Creatables, and the stick on pearls are Kaiser Basics.   I used red wrapping paper to make the mini roses, and I think they turned out ok.

Happy Birthday flags

Inspiration for this card came from Scraps of Life who used the Graphic 45 papers, Bohemian Bazaar, and even though I have this paper I need to
use up a lot of paper packs that I have had for ages
I used for the background paper a sheet from the
Bo Bunny 6" x 6" pack "Timepiece Collection",
I do like this paper!  and the red flag is some
corrugated that I have only a little bit left and the flags
were from several little scraps.   I used a yellow and
two green buttons from my stash and the twine is from my stash, I bought some from Coles supermarket and it is lasting and lasting, the Red ribbon is grosgrain and I also had it in my stash.  I really enjoyed making this card, and it will look terrific when I make it in the bohemian bazaar paper, the Happy Birthday stamp I have also had in my stash for ages, it is a favourite!

additions to the inside of the Journey" card

when I first made this card I thought the centre was a bit too plain so I added a camera, from Tim Holts Movers and shapers, I also made a little black passport and a post card made with a small piece of card stock from a package that had writing on it and stamped the "Post Card" from the Tim Holtz stamps "The Journey" I have used these stamps quite a lot.

Steampunk Lady

I made this card from Graphic 45 paper pad 8" x 8",  I really love this paper, I used for the flowers Die-Namics "Prima Donna Petals", and "Mini Royal Roses", I also put gold buttons in the centres of the flowers and used the large wings from Tim Holts "Heart Wings" cutting die and the gears were cut from a royal blue shade of card stock with Tim Holts, Steampunk gears.   I really love this card.

Bohemian Bazaar No.2

I  made this card today with the Graphic 45  8" x 8" paper pad, the inspiration came from Scraps of Life, e mail of 28/6/13, I used the green ribbon instead of the blue and I used an ordinary sentiment card instead of the pocket piece.   Still not sure if I like this paper, maybe it will grow on me.

Thursday 18 July 2013

A card from Bohemian Bazaar.

I have been wanting to use the paper from Graphic 45,Bohemian Bazaar and the inspiration for this card came from Roni at http://inkstainswithhroni.blogspot.com.au I used a lime yellow card stock with paper from the 8" x 8" paper pack, these are beautiful paper,   I followed roni's tutorial with the exception of the words which were typed on my computed and the little bird is a free stamp from "Craft Stamper"  I am not sure about this paper colours, they are not my usual style but I think I will come to love them

chapel card No:1

The other day I received two new cutting dies that I had ordered from Fat Cats who are in Toowoomba, Qld.   The first one was the Marianne Creatable Chapel, and the other one was the Die-Namics Mini roses.   I originally wanted the Chapel die to make a confirmation card for one of my grandsons, but that will be next year so I made a Christmas card, and used some left over Christmas paper, the green with the gold stars against the red card stock, I cut the chapel out of white card stock and used pale lemon paper for the back of the windows, I used a paper doily folded into a triangle for the lower left corner and used a "Fancy That" flourish to cut out the green pieces the mini roses were cut out of white copy paper, and they turned out lovely,.   I used a little reindeer, I think it is a Martha Stewart, but am not sure because it was a gift from my friend Helen.   The inside is embossed with Sizzex embossing folder "Snow Flurries" and I used a larger reindeer there.

Steampunk card number 2

This card was made from the left over card stock from the previous card, I used the same process with the embossing folders (bottletop was used here) and images from my Olde Curiosity Shoppe paper pad from Graphic 45, just love these papers, the flower is from
Destination Art in West Australia, I think they are discontinuing some of their on line products.   I used the Vintage photo distress inks to shade the card, I am happy with this one.

steampunk style card

I made this card in the style of "that crazy chick" who published her instructions to make a card embossed with different embossing folders, which I found interesting so I gave it a go, with this card I used Tim Holts embossing folders bottle caps and rulers which I bought only recently from Craft On Line, and I used the Graphic 45 8"x 8" "Olde Curiosity Shoppe Paper Pad, and I used bone coloured ribbon from my stash.   I shaded the edges of the card and folder with Tim's distress ink Vintage Photo.  I am very happy with this.
