Joy to the World

Good Morning everyone, I have had fun this morning making this card to enter into Merry Monday Christmas Challenge #255 (Joy)
Http://merrymondaychristmaschallenge.blogspot.com.au .   I used white cardstock for the base, and used an old Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations embossing folder, I don't have the name of this embossing folder, but it is a favourite of mine, and I have had it for quite a few years, I coloured the trees using the dot method in two colours, distress ink pens, Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron.   The two little deer were die cut with a Impression Obsession die, which I have also had for a long time, I used a scrap of scrapbook paper to cut these out and used a black pen for their eyes.   I used a very old stamp from my stash to stamp the sentiment "Joy to the World"   and I shaded the sky with a very light touch with Distress Ink Pad "Faded Jeans".   Hope you all like this Cheers,   Jasann

Embossed Impressions

Hi there, Have not blogged for about four weeks or so, as I have been in hospital with this dreadful flu that is reaching all over N.S.W. even though I had the flu vaccination it didn't cover the extra four strains of flu that came.   Anyway I am at home now and have my "mojo" and getting energy back, so I made this card this morning to enter into the http://52cct.blogspot.com Autumn challenge " embossed impressions" I used a pale green card for the top cut out section which I used a Poppy Crafts Die "Bubble Labels" and shaded the edges with Distress Ink pad "Mowed Lawn" and for the inside where I embossed the three pine trees from Tim Holtz Alterations embossing folder (which is a quite old one) on cream cardstock and shaded the trees also with "Mowed Lawn"  and the sentiment came from a very old die cutting set "Jolly" from Quickutz, I bought this set on e bay about 20 years ago, so don't know if it has been discontinued or not, but get it out every year when I am cutting Christmas Cards, because it is a very versatile set.  Hope you all like this card, and I did enjoy making it, cheers, Jasann

Toy Soldiers

Hi there, this is the first time I have posted on  my blog since September, 2016.  I was diagnosed with severe Osteoporosis last year and needed two total hip replacements, which I have now had and am recovering now, and I am able to resume my card making.   I made this card to enter into the June 2017, theme challenge "Toy soldiers or Nutcrackers" from 52 Christmas Card Throwdown,   http://52cct.blogspot.com.   I used red cardstock for the base of the card and stamped two images of the Tim Holtz blueprint stamp, toy soldier, onto white card, I used Tim's distress tool to distress the edges of the white card and shaded it with "peeled paint" distress ink pad.   I coloured the toy soldiers with Faber Castille water colour pencils and used a piece of glitter ribbon to use on the side for a bit of glitter.  Hope you all like this card.
