loving snowman

Hi there everyone, I have been a bit quiet lately, but liked the idea of this card with a heart and a
snowman, I used white card for the background card and used a Tim Holtz stencil "Hearts" and spritzed it with a home made dark yellow ink and left over ink from a Perfect Pearls Mist "Sunflower Sparkle which gave a lovely sparkle to the stars, I used a Poppy Crafts cutting die set of 5 hearts to cut the large heart with the two largest hearts, and the smallest one, also used a heart punch for the tiny one.   I used a Marianne's Creatables cutting die "Snowman" and used an off cut that had been sprayed with Tim Holtz Distress Spray "Cracked Pistachio", which is a nice colour and coloured in the hat, face and scarf with Crayola Markers.  I shaded the edges with distress ink "Barn Door"   I am entering this card into the following two challenges:   http://52cct.blogspot.com.au   Snowman

blending/stamping/stencils

Hi everyone, I have signed up to take a class on Craftsy by Marjie Kemper, and I am enjoying them, Marjie is  a very good teacher, just wish I was able to take the classes in a proper class but the internet class is very good!!  These are two journal pages that I made on the first day of class, I used lighter colours than Marjie, but will use darker ones next, I have learnt some good things about Distress Inks, and stains so am looking forward to the next few lessons, and I think I will certainly get good value from these classes!!  Thanks for visiting, Jasann

candles and flowers

Hi there everyone, here is a card I made this afternoon to enter into the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge #165 (candles and flowers) http://merrymondaychristmaschallenge.blogspot.com.au
I used a white cardstock for the base of the card with a scrap of dark red for the candle, I used a piece of glittery paper for the flame with the centre drawn with a red gel pen, and the candle grease with a white gel pen, I used the gold glittery paper for the pointsettias which were cut with a Marianne's Creatables die and used a yellow rhinestone for the centres and green glittery paper for the pine needles which were cut with a Memory Box die, I used daffodil ink pad from Memento Inks for the glow behind the flame and used a smaller gold rhinestone for the top right hand corner.  I shaded the edges with a Tim Holtz distress ink "Vintage Photo"  Hope you all like this card, and thanks so much for visiting, Jasann

Every Possibility

Hi there everyone, sorry I haven't been posting as much as I should, have had a few health problems, but soon I will have surgery and then will be back on the mend.   I love making cards and made this one today, with white card stock for the backing and used Tim Holtz stencil "Tracks" with "Pumice Stone" ink from Ranger, and also Memory Box Stencil "Gears" with "Vintage Photo" ink, I then used tim's stamp, Old Jalopy from "Life's Possibilities" and the sentiment from Tim's stamp "Curious Possibility" and shaded the edges with "Vintage Photo"  I like this card and am happy with it, it has so few elements in this card, but really "hits the spot"   Thanks for visiting today, Jasann

embossed metal

Hi there everyone, it is very chilly here today, but after all it is winter and won't last long.   I made this card today. I found a lovely video tutorial by Lizzy Wurman http://lizzywurman.typepad.com . She was featured on this weeks "Tuesday Turorials" by Margie Kemper's Designs.   Lizzy used adhesive silver foil, but the only thing suitable I had was Silver Card from Poppy's, I dry embossed the card with Tim Holtz embossing folder "Patchwork", this is an old one that was pushed to the back of my storage basket, but I really like it.  I used alcohol inks (which were also at the back of the cupboard as I haven't used them for a long time)  to the instructions in the video, and mounted it on black card, and am really happy with it. Sponged Snowflakes

Hi everyone, we are having a lovely sunny day today, hope  you are too!!!  Here is today's card I made for Case-ing Christmas Christmas Challenge #26 "Sponged Snowflakes", http://case-ingchristmas.blogspot.com.au I really enjoyed making this card with a green cardstock for the background and a white card topper that I dry embossed with a Sizzex Alterations embossing folder, I don't know the official name for this as I don't have the original packaging as I bought it at a garage sale, have used it a lot though, it is one of my favourites, I used Tim Holtz mini ink pad "Peeled Paint" to sponge with various pressures to shade the snowflakes and the background!!   I cut a tag from a piece of white card and stamped snowflakes with an old generic stamp pad in the "Peeled Paint" again, I then mounted the tag on white card stock after I had shaded the top one.   The sentiment stamp is from an old Spellbinders Christmas stamp set, and I used white pearls on the corners and on the various sections of the tag.

Christmas Tree

Hi there everyone, Hope you like my card that I made last night,
I am entering this into the Case-ing Christmas Challenge
#25, http://case-ingchristmas.blogspot.com.au I used green
cardstock for the base and red cardstock on top of that
with another green piece and some striped Christmas paper.
I used Tim Holtz Blueprint stamp to stamp out two trees, and cut them from Green Glitter paper,
and layered them with dimensional tape, and shaded the edges with Tim Holtz "evergreen" ink pad,
I cut a tag from red cardstock and heat embossed with Ranger Gold embossing powder, the sentiment and used Kaisercraft basic Red Rhinestones for the accent.    Hope you like it and thank you for visiting, Jasann
