Hi there everyone, I am happy to be back in blogland, and made this card last night, for the challenge at Christmas Card Throwdown, the January Sketch, http://52cct.blogspot.com.
I used the colours shown in the sketch, and on the red and white layers I dry embossed with "Christmas Village" which came with the Christmas card making kit from Tonic Studios. I was very pleased with this kit as it had lots of ideas, stamps and cutting dies, plus papers. I used the paper with "deck the halls" from a scrap of graphic 45 paper, I like to save all scraps of papers so I can use them on things like this and butterflies etc., The white piece is cut from a die from Die'sire decorative frame dies, which I have had in my stash for a very long time, and the star is cut with a die from Poppy's Crafts and the Merry Christmas is cut with a Marianne's Creatable's die, these two dies I have had in my stash for ages also, and the rhinstones are also in my stash, from a cheap shop. Hope you all like this card, I am sorry about the shadow on the photo, have a lovely day all, cheers, Jasann
I love your embossing across the layers, and the scrap from Graphic 45 - we crafters don't waste a thing do we! Especially of special stuff! Thanks for joining us at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lucinda for your lovely comment, you are right about the saving of papers, they can always be cut into butterflies, hearts. etc., and we get to use all the costly papers that we love. thanks again
ReplyDeleteA colourful use of scraps and embossing. I too have a mountain of scraps but does it stop us buying more? No. Thanks for joining in at 52CCT.
ReplyDeleteHave you been to https://pixiescraftyworkshop.blogspot.co.uk/2018/01/pixies-snippets-playground-weeks-315.html to join in the snippets challenge?
I really like the embossing. It's good to use things you have in your stash - well done! Thanks for joining us at 52CCT. Gill DT.
