Bamboo

Hi, Here is today's card, It has been stamped with a (I think) a Tim Holt stamp that came with an embossing folder, although this time I didn't use the embossing folder, I stamped the bamboo with Memento Ink Pad, "Grape Jelly" and immediately sprinkled pale green embossing powder, the powder is from Donna Salazar's Mix'd Media Inx, I quite like the colour of this green, I had hoped that the powder would cover all the leaves, but it didn't and I really like the effect, it add's dimension to the leaves, so it was a lucky accident.   I used white cardstock and attached the topper with dimensional tape to raise it up. and used the Grape Jelly ink to stamp the sentiment and shade around all the edges, thanks for visiting today, Jasann

Thinking of you

Hi there, here is today's card, I used white cardstock, and cut out a smaller card for the centre and used a Tim Holtz stencil, "Treads" and used an old stamp for the image, so old I can't remember where I got it from or what the name of the manufacturer is, the image is stamped with black stazOn ink pad as is the sentiment, which came from a Julie Nutting stamp set, the gems are from a cheap shop and I don't know the name of that set either, I decided that I need to use up all my old stash and use my old cutting dies too. The ink used in this card is a Memento Ink pad "Grape Jelly" which is a pale green/lime  colour.     hope you like this card and thanks for visiting today, Jasann

Altered Clock - The Shed

 Hi there everyone, I got the inspiration for this
piece from Gayle Price from Finnabair's e mail on the 18/7/15 where she showed a piece called
"The Old Church Shed"   I thought I might like
to alter this clock for one of my grandsons, and used this old wooden clock, and used heaps of
bits and pieces and several, quite a lot of die cuts, corrugated card, toilet roll holders, and so on, texture paste for the sides, and think it has worked out ok.   It reminds me of the many sheds that have been in my life since I was a small child, I forgot to take a photo of the roof, where there are some small screws and some gears, also I also added a round gear on the wire spool.   I hope my grandson will like this piece, thanks for visiting, Jasann

Celebrate

Hi there everyone, another windy and chilly day, just right to stay inside and make some cards, I made this one out of cream cardstock that has a wrinkled surface, I decided to  use an old Cuttlebug die for the cup, this die has also got an embossing folder in the pack so that you can emboss the cup and make a lovely piece, I used a scrap of white cardstock for the cup and stained it with Tim Holtz "Walnut Stain" and "Antique Bronze" distress stains, I made the stars out of a free cutting die that ccame from the Australian Simply Cards magazine and used a Die-namics cutting die for the sentiment.  Had fun making this card, hope you like it and thanks for visiting today, Jasann

Heartfelt Thanks

Hi everyone, I hope you are having a lovely day, it is raining here again, and quite chilly.
I made this card today with a stamp set that was given to me by a kind friend, it is from "Clearly Besotted Stamps.com.  It is a lovely set containing leaves, fuschias, butterflies and a jar, also three lovely sentiments, I can't see the name of the set anywhere, but it is a pretty versatile set.
I used a card blank that I had used to sop up some pink spray ink from my craft sheet, and used a white topper to stamp all the elements, I also used three tiny pearls for the top of the flowers, the inks I used was Black Stazon to stamp the butterflies and shaded them with "Scattered Straw" distress ink and for the other elements I used "Evergreen Bough", "Pumice Stone" distress ink pads and "Lilac Posies" Memento Ink pad, and shaded the edges of the topper with "Spun Sugar" distress ink, I used a water pen to blend the colours.  Hope you like it as much as I enjoyed making it, and thanks for visiting today, Jasann

loving snowman

Hi there everyone, I have been a bit quiet lately, but liked the idea of this card with a heart and a
snowman, I used white card for the background card and used a Tim Holtz stencil "Hearts" and spritzed it with a home made dark yellow ink and left over ink from a Perfect Pearls Mist "Sunflower Sparkle which gave a lovely sparkle to the stars, I used a Poppy Crafts cutting die set of 5 hearts to cut the large heart with the two largest hearts, and the smallest one, also used a heart punch for the tiny one.   I used a Marianne's Creatables cutting die "Snowman" and used an off cut that had been sprayed with Tim Holtz Distress Spray "Cracked Pistachio", which is a nice colour and coloured in the hat, face and scarf with Crayola Markers.  I shaded the edges with distress ink "Barn Door"   I am entering this card into the following two challenges:   http://52cct.blogspot.com.au   Snowman

blending/stamping/stencils

Hi everyone, I have signed up to take a class on Craftsy by Marjie Kemper, and I am enjoying them, Marjie is  a very good teacher, just wish I was able to take the classes in a proper class but the internet class is very good!!  These are two journal pages that I made on the first day of class, I used lighter colours than Marjie, but will use darker ones next, I have learnt some good things about Distress Inks, and stains so am looking forward to the next few lessons, and I think I will certainly get good value from these classes!!  Thanks for visiting, Jasann

candles and flowers

Hi there everyone, here is a card I made this afternoon to enter into the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge #165 (candles and flowers) http://merrymondaychristmaschallenge.blogspot.com.au
I used a white cardstock for the base of the card with a scrap of dark red for the candle, I used a piece of glittery paper for the flame with the centre drawn with a red gel pen, and the candle grease with a white gel pen, I used the gold glittery paper for the pointsettias which were cut with a Marianne's Creatables die and used a yellow rhinestone for the centres and green glittery paper for the pine needles which were cut with a Memory Box die, I used daffodil ink pad from Memento Inks for the glow behind the flame and used a smaller gold rhinestone for the top right hand corner.  I shaded the edges with a Tim Holtz distress ink "Vintage Photo"  Hope you all like this card, and thanks so much for visiting, Jasann

Every Possibility

Hi there everyone, sorry I haven't been posting as much as I should, have had a few health problems, but soon I will have surgery and then will be back on the mend.   I love making cards and made this one today, with white card stock for the backing and used Tim Holtz stencil "Tracks" with "Pumice Stone" ink from Ranger, and also Memory Box Stencil "Gears" with "Vintage Photo" ink, I then used tim's stamp, Old Jalopy from "Life's Possibilities" and the sentiment from Tim's stamp "Curious Possibility" and shaded the edges with "Vintage Photo"  I like this card and am happy with it, it has so few elements in this card, but really "hits the spot"   Thanks for visiting today, Jasann

embossed metal

Hi there everyone, it is very chilly here today, but after all it is winter and won't last long.   I made this card today. I found a lovely video tutorial by Lizzy Wurman http://lizzywurman.typepad.com . She was featured on this weeks "Tuesday Turorials" by Margie Kemper's Designs.   Lizzy used adhesive silver foil, but the only thing suitable I had was Silver Card from Poppy's, I dry embossed the card with Tim Holtz embossing folder "Patchwork", this is an old one that was pushed to the back of my storage basket, but I really like it.  I used alcohol inks (which were also at the back of the cupboard as I haven't used them for a long time)  to the instructions in the video, and mounted it on black card, and am really happy with it.
