Merry CHristmas

Hi there everyone, here is todays card, to be enterd into the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge (#182), http://merrymondaychristmaschallenge.blogspot.com.au
I used a plain white cardstock for the base card and stamped the Crazy Bird with Black Stazon ink pad, and coloured him with Distress Ink Pad, Scattered Straw, Barn Door, and Vintage Photo, when that was dry I rubbed Distress Micro Glaze all over him so that I could use the stencils, Tiddlybitz, Chicken Wire (with Vintage Photo) and Tim Holtz' Hollybough, with Evergreen Bough, and used a red gel pen to colour the holly.   I used Ranger Crackle Accents for his eyes, then I cut out a party hat from a piece of Scrapbook paper and shaded the edges with vintage photo, I used an old Kaisercraft stamp set "Tis the Season" to stamp the sentiment, also with black stazon, Hope you all like this crazy bird, and thanks so much for visiting today, Jasann

Pink Reindeer

Hi Everyone, here is a card I am entering into the Merry Monday Challenge #180 (use a reindeer), http://merrymondaychristmaschallenge.blogspot.com.au I used white card stock and used a technique I found on Kylie is addicted to stamps (and now butterflies) http://addictedtostamps-kylie-blogspot..cm.au she has a video on her newsletter of the 28/10/15 demonstrating this technique, which I love and have used it quite a few time,  the snowflakes were a bit strange when they were wet, but air dried beautifully, and I used the stamp that came with the embossing folder to stamp the sentiment across the bottom of the card, I used Dylusions Ink Spray "Bubblegum Pink" for the snowflakes and distress ink pad "Barn Door" for the sentiment, I shaded the edges with Distress Ink Pad "Spun Sugar" and cut the deer from Pink Glitter Card with Tim Holtz Bigz die "Reindeer Flight" Hope you like this card and thanks so much for visiting today, Jasann

Melting Snowman

Hi there everyone, here is Day 10 of the challenge "Twelve Tags of Christmas" with Loll and Friends, http://stampingwithloll.com Today I have called this tag Melting Snowman, he wasn't intended to be melting, I used Tim Holtz Embossing folder "Snowman" he is the lovely snowman who is facing sideways, I covered him with Embossing ink and also embossing powder and used the heat  gun, but it didn't work out as it should have, then I decided to cover him with Texture paste, but I wasn't able to cover him neatly, and then I had to use two layers as the first one took on the red colour from the card, I found two little black beads for his eyes but didn't have enough for his buttons, on his face there was a little bit that I couldn't get the texture paste on and I thought, OK I will call it his mouth, and I used an Distress Marker
Carved Pumpkin for his nose, I drew some holly leaves and berries for his hands with gel pens.   I used Tim Holtz "Stars" stencil for the stars, but again the texture paste absorbed the red card colour so I outlined them with a white gel pen,  I also used the gel pen for the snow.   I used a red and white gingham ribbon and attached a small brass snowflake to the bow with a small brass safety pin, and used a small stamp for the Merry Christmas with distress ink pad "Black Soot"  hope you like this one, I was almost going to toss him in the bin, but he had taken so much time that I thought he looked unique, so here he is!   Thanks so much for visiting today, Jasann

Hi!!  Here is Day 9  of  the challenge with Loll and Friends "Twelve Tags of Christmas"   http://stampingwithloll.com  With this tag I used one a bit wider than the others and dry embossed  the Swirl Christmas Tree from Craftz-Too, I have used this quite a lot, it is a favourite, and rubbed my blending tool over with Distress Ink "Peeled Paint" and cut two ice skates with Tim Holtz Movers and Shapers Die - Mini Toy Soldier and Ice Skate.   I shaded them with Distress Ink "Vintage Photo" and hand drew the laces with a Gel Pen that I bought from Aldi a long time ago. Stamped sentiment is from an old Christmas stamp set, and the Ho Ho Ho is from a piece of scrap paper with the Joy Christmas Die Set from Quickcutz.   I used red and white bakers twine for the bow and the cords holding the skates up, and I shaded around the edges with Distress Ink "Barn Door"  Hope you all like this one, and thanks so much for visiting today, Jasann

HO-HO-HO

Hi there everybody, this is day 7 for Twelve Tags of Christmas with Loll and Friends, http://stampingwithloll.com, I used a regular sized tag and used the technique described by Kylie of http://addictedtostamps,Kylie.blogspot.com.au in her newsletted on 28/10/15, it is "Stamping with Embossing Folders" plus she has a video of the technique in this newsletter, I have kept it on file as I really like this process.   I used a Craftz-too Embossing folder, "Swirl Christmas Tree with Distress Spray Stain "Cracked Pistachio", and cut a small swirly Christmas tree with a cutting die that was a free gift with Australian Simply Cards Magazine, from a piece of paper from the Kaisercraft paper pad "Yuletide" the sentiment, Ho Ho Ho was cut from the Jolly Set from Quickutz. I have had this set for a long time and it has cutting dies and stamps for Christmas and has been used a lot of several Christmases.   The paper the sentiment was cut from is from the Graphic 45 "Speampunk Spells" I felt it needed a darker colour for this and used the pieces from the centre of the "0"'s for paper sequins and I shaded the edges with Distress Ink Pad  "Peeled Paint" The floppy box was made with red ribbon with green edges which I bought at the "Boxing Day" sales last year.   hope you all like this tag and thanks so much for visiting today, Jasann

Holly

Hi there everyone, here is Day 6 in the Twelve Tags of Christmas Challenge by Stamping with Loll,http://stampingwithloll.com
the challenge is sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique, http://thefunkiejunkie.com,  they have lots of great "stuff" for sale.   I used a regular sized tag for this project, and used Chromacryl texture Paste for the background which I shaped with one of TIm Holtz texture tools number 5, and not being experienced with these tools it came out very "wonky", but I liked the look and after it was dry, with the heat tool", I sprayed it with Perfect Pearls Mist "Kiwi" which is a pale green, although it has a brown tinge, I used the Julie Nutting Stamp "Merry Nice" for the girl, and her clothes were stamped on a scrap piece of Purple scrap paper and I put a pale aqua gem on her skirt, and used gel pens for the shoes and necklace, also for the holly berries and leaves.   On the hat for the brim and bauble I used Kindy Glitz  "Chrisatlina"  this took on the purple colour of the paper, I used distress ink pad "shaded lilac" to shade around the edges of the tag and also to colour the ribbon for the double bow. Hope you all like this tag, and thanks so much for visiting me today, Jasann

tree ornament

Hi here is todays tag, day 5, for Twelve Tags of Christmas http://stampingwithloll.com I used a regular sized tag, and shaded it with Distresss Faded Jeans in the watercolour technique and used Tim Holtx Stencil Strips with Chromacryl Texture Paste, I find this a bit thin though and I like a texture paste with body,   I cut the ornament with Tim's Retro Ornaments Bigz die from Holly paper from Kaisercraft 6-1/2" square christmas pad December 25th.. I have had this pad for a long time and there are still pages in it.   I used silver stars from my stash for the hanger. and shaded the tag to show up the textured sections with Memento Ink Pad Bahama Blue. the bow and centre of the ornament are cut from scraps from my scrap basket, and the silver ribbon came from my ribbon box where I keep ribbons that I have bought at various times.   Hope you like this tag and thanks very much for visiting today, Jasann

Christmas

Hi there, the other day I saw a beautiful card from Brenda at Bumblebees and Butterflies - http://www.bumblebeesandbutterflies.com I don't have all the required items to replicate this card, but thought I might be able to make something similar, as I like the concept of this card.   The top card I used white cardstock and used the "stamping with embossing folder" as shown by Kylie from " Kylie is addicted to stamps"  http://addictedtostamps-kylie-blogspot.com.au    Kylie has a great tutorial over at her site.   I made a mask to go over my Christmas tree and then stamped with an old Christmas Word Stamp, in Memento Ink Pad, "Daffodill"  the tree was stamped with Tim Holtz Distress spray "Cracked Pistachio" I cut to deer out with Tim's Bigz die "Reindeer Flight" , shaded the edges with the Daffodil ink pad.    The second card I used Brenda's instructions about the ink pads on the craft sheet, but didn't do enough layers.   I used Tim Holtz Blue Print Christmas tree stamp  on the back of the card and cut it out by  hand, I used the Christmas word stamp  in the Daffodil for the background, the stars as on the previous card and the deer out of Glitter  Card, I like both of them, so thanks to Brenda and Kylie for their tutorials.   Greatly appreciated, I am entering this in to the challenge on 52 (Christmas) card throwdown, theme challenge the theme for this one is #29 from June 2014, Rudolph/reindeer, http://52cct.blogspot.com  thanks for visiting today, Jasann

Love

Hi everyone, Here is today's card for the Merry Monday Challenge #172,  http://merrymondaychristmaschallennge.blogspot.com.au  where the challenge is a watercolour background.   I made this watercolour background with distress inks, and used Tim Holtz "Reindeer Flight" bigz cutting die, and mini Pine Trees Movers and Shapers die, I used watered down white Gesso for the snow drops, when they dried though they were too pale so I then used a white gel pen to add more white colour to them.   I used a sentiment with Stazon stamp pad from one of the Kaisercraft stamp sets.    Hope you all like this card, and thanks so much for visiting today, Jas
ann, oops!! I am also entering this card in Nellies Nest Challenge, Christmas Card must have a Deer, http://classycardsnsuch.blogspot.com.

Book Week

Hi there, I don't do much scrapbooking, mainly only for my family, and was please to receive these two photos of my two youngest grandsons, Book Week at School, were they were dressed as The Joker and Harry Potter.    I got the inspiration from Vicky at ClipnCuts on You Tube, she does wonderful journal pages, and I really liked the one she called Reading.    So I used old bookpages and vintage photo distress ink pad and cut out the letters in red card, and then decided that they would look better black, so coloured them with a Sharpie pen.   The letters were from an old school stencil, and the numbers were a Dyan Reaveley stencil.    I gave Harry a white steampunk owl from Cheery Lynne, and hand drew a pair of Harry style glasses.   I hand cut all the books and used a globe from the Tim Holtz idea-ology pad - French Industrial.    Hope you all like this page as much as I do, and thanks so much for visiting, Jasann

Tidings of Joy

Hi there, here is another card  made with the window die, this one is looking in the window,
I used a mask for the area behind the window, and used home made texture paste, coloured with Jo Sonja water colour acrylic, as I didn't have a brown colour in my distress inks that was right for the bricks, and I used a Twiddly Winks stencil for the bricks, after they dried I pulled the mask off and used stamps from a very old set of Christmas Stamps, sorry I don't have the packaging to show who the manufacturer is.   A My favourite Things Cutting Die was used for the greenery and a Memory Box Cutting Die for the fence, and I coloured Santa and the little tree with a selection of Distress Inks. Hope you all like this card, I am pretty happy with, and thanks so much for visiting today, Jasann

Hi everyone, a new card to enter into the Merry Monday Challenge #170, (use holly), http://merrymondaychristmaschallenge.blogspot.com.au  I am staying at my son's home for the next two weeks, and did not bring all my craft stuff, a bit hard, as I seem to have heaps, so do not have many dies etc., but what I have on hand I used for this card, white cardstock, pile of gifts stamped with Stazon black ink pad, and coloured with Faber-Castille water colour pencils, and a Tim Holtz stencil Holly Bough, coloured with distress inks = evergreen bough and barn door. and stamped with a sentiment, I bought both those stamps from a garage sale so sorry everyone I do not know the manufacturer, and shaded around the edges with the barn door, hope you all like this card, and thanks so much for visiting today.................

crazy bird

Here  is a card I made yesterday with the "Crazy Bird", I copied this bird because here in Australia the stamp set is over $53.00 and is too expensive for someone on a limited budget, I just hope it will look ok.  I used white cardstock, and used a stamp that I made from the Tim Holtz mini pine and holly die, and stamped the trees at the back also a star stamp that I made, I coloured my bird with Distress Ink "pumice stone" and "Barn Door" I used texture paste around his hat and pom pom, the little pile of gifts came as a gift from a friend, and I coloured the gifts with distress "Barn Door", "Faded Jeans" "Antique Linen" and "Evergreen Bough", and I put the sentiment on the inside of the card.  Hope you all like this, thanks for visiting, Jasann

Christmas Joy

Hello everyone, this card is for entry into the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge #169, Light Green, Dark Green and Red. http://merrymondaychristmaschallenge.blogspot.com.au
I used four different green elements for this card, Dylusions Ink "Cut Grass", Distress Spray Stain "Cracked Pistachio", Distress Ink Pad "Peeled Paint" Mix'd Media Inx embossing Powder "Peridot", four shades of green, I used a white cardstock for the base and used Tim Holtz stencil "Festive" and a plain red card for both the edges, this is the last of my red card, have to buy more!!!  and used some red rhinestones from Kaisercraft basics, and some red gel ink pen for the berries, the two ink sprays were sprayed through the stencil and for the sentiment "Christmas Joy" which was an old stamp that came out of my stash, I used the distress ink to stamp and the embossing powder on top of that, which gave a two tone effect which I am quite happy with.  Thanks so much for visiting today, Jasann

Snowman

Hello everyone, hope everyone is having a good day, I made this card today to enter into the 52 (Christmas) card Throwdown, August Theme Challenge - "For a Child" http://52cct.blogspot.com.au, and hope this cute snowman will be liked, I used white cardstock for the base and for the topper I sprayed Dylusions Ink Spray in London Blue and used Tim Holtz stencil "Tracks" and Dylusion stencil "Chequered Dots" with water and that's how I  got the lovely background with seemingly snowdrops on the scene, I stamped Tim Holtz Blueprint Snowman onto the card and also a separate one that I could colour and add with dimensional tape.   I used a selection of Stabilo  Pens,  Crayola Markers and Distress re-inker (tumbled glass) to colour the snowman and his features.   The sentiment came from a "Clear Impressions" stamp. I am pretty pleased with this one and think that any one of my grandsons would like this card!  Thanks for visiting today, Jasann

Happy Birthday

Hi everyone, here is a card I am entering into the August Challenge at Scrapbook Boutique, http://scrapbookboutiquenews.blogspot.com.au , I haven't entered any thing in these challenges before, but am now diving in!!!   this card is on a black cardstock base, and was stamped with a stamp I made, with Debbie Henderson's video tutorial, Debbie's Designs, and it worked very well, I used my Cheery Lynne die - Steampunk Butterfly - with foam that I bought at Lyncraft at Victoria Point, south of Brisbane, when I was visiting my daughter last Christmas.  For the background I used a tutorial from Split Coast Stampers - Lee Anne Cross - Stencil Monoprints - they also have a video tutorial, I am very pleased with the way this turned out as it is my first time using this technique.   I used two shades of red, Memento Ink Pad - Lady Bug, and Distress Inks - Barn Door.   For the Butterflies I used Memento Ink Pad - Burmuda Blue. I used Liquid Perfect Pears for the dots in the butterfly feelers and Stick on Blue Rhinestones for the other little embellishments, and the Happy Birthday stamp came from ab old stamp set that I have had for ages and lost the packaging, so can't say who the manufacturer was. I shaded around the edges with Burmuda Blue   Hope you like this card and many thanks for visiting, Jasann

Traditional

Hi everyone, here is my entry in the 52 (Christmas) Card Challenge, it is the August Colour Challenge = traditional red and green, which should be the predominate colours, http://52cct.blogspot.com.au , I used a red background and a green Christmas tree that was a gift from one of my friends, and stamped and paper pierced some small gifts for under the tree, I put red ribbon across the lower section of the card, and used small red rhinestones, (stick-on) from Kaisercraft basics.  The little sentiment stamp is from Clear Impressions Stamp set and the small flag is from a scrap of red and cream scrap booking paper.  I am also entering this into the Sunday Stamps Challenge - SSC107 - colour challenge, reds and greens, http://sundaystamps.blogspot.com.au, hope you all like it and thanks so much for visiting, Jasann
