"Cool Dude"

I cut this card with the Sizzix Karen Burnistone die Accordian /Album 3D Bigz cutting die.
This is a fun die to use, I used Tim Holtz embossing folder with Kitchen Aluminium Foil for the centre pieces, "Riveted Metal", and a new Tim Holtz stamp, I think he is called "Watch Man"  which I coloured him in with Faber-Castell water colour pencils, on the second page I used another new stamp "Gears", and I attached a silver chain between the first page and the second held in which brads and I hung a watch from my stash at the end of the chain on the second page, on the third page I cut out stamped pen nibs from Tim's stamps "curious possibility" as is the last page with the three Top Hatted Men
and I stamped "Cool Dude" with an alpha set
that I have had for a long time. and a Happy Birthday
from a Fiskars Die that I have also had for a long time, had fun with this but it did take me several hours to do it, I just hope the reciepent will like it. After looking at this card after I posted it, I got out my Tim Holtz distress ink and used "walnut" to colour the man and the gears, it gives a darker and better image.

boys photo canvas

These are 2012 school photos of my four grandsons, and I made these canvasses for them, I used all sorts of things from the shed, ie screws, nails, bolts, and a lot of other bits and bobs that were destined to the rubbish bin.   I used gesso on the canvas and all the bits that I had stuck on with the hot glue gun, over pieces of lace that I had attached with the gesso at the beginning of the exercise.
I do not have any blue stains, inks so I used food colouring and water colour paints to make my sprays, I used the lighter blue (food colouring) and mixed the water colours to make the medium and the dark colours.   For a first try I think it is not too bad.

accordian Mother's Day Cards

I recently was able to buy the Karen Burniston Accordion Die and looked on Karen's blogspot, for the tutorial for making this card/album.   It is fascinating to make, I wanted to make an album/card for my daughter and daughter in law for Mother's Day and made my first samples.   I used Bright Pink cardstock and also acrylic left over from a package that I had kept for "in case",   It made great inside pages for the butterflies that I cut from various dies, ie: spellbinders and Marianne creatables.   I think they turned out ok, will continue to practise with this die, I found with the acrylic that I had to use hot glue gun instead of the glue dots/double

sided tape.

Santa's Coat

I made this card today to enter into http://christmasstampin.blogspot.com.au challenge number 11 - Santa's Coat.   I used red card stock to designate santa's coat with a black belt and a fancy belt buckle cut from white card stock with a Memory Box cutting die "Marietta Buckle"   I have used this die quite a lot, and the buttons were cut from a Cuttlebug cutting die "Baby Face" Alphabet. a bit of fun and easy to make if you have to make a lot of cards.

owl card

Today's card is a stamped owl from www.papercraftessentials.com.au , free stamp from Woodware craft collection no.BS23 2DE,  had fun with this one using white card stock for the card base and using a Darice embossing folder "Woodgrain"   and I stained this with Tim Holtz distress inks "Walnut"  I used scrap paper from my stash for the paper piercing and since I scanned this card I have coloured the owl beak with water colour pencils, orange colour which looks better,  I haave put the sentiment inside the card "all of a twitter" I haven't put a sentiment on the front yet because I don't know what I will use it for ie: birthday, thanks etc.I used the Walnut distress stain to colour around the edges of the white card, and I cut the brown woodgrain so it looks like a tree trunk.

Clown with an umbrella

Todays card is for my daughter's nephew and as he is going to be 4 years old, I made a card with a clown, I used for the blue background, blue food colour in a mini mister and used Dyan Revealy templates for the bricks in the background, the clown stencil is something that I have had for ages, I used an Die Namics cutting die for the umbrella and used two layers, attaching the top layer of the umbrella with double sided tape and the bottom edge with dimensional tape so that it stood out a little bit at the lower edge, I used Tsukineko ink's with daubers to colour the clown, and I put a ball on the clown's other hand, I used the same paper for the number 4 and a Quickutz cutting die "Number 48" and for the Happy Birthday a Marianne's Creatable die for the top edge I used a Tim Holtz On the edge cutting die "Ornate" on the inside pages I used another Sizzex cutting die "Gift No 2" which is an old one that I have had for ages, I used a Dyan Revealey ink "Sunflower" to give a nice shine on the card. I am entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Blog Challenge "Happy Birthday"
